Updated May 28, 2018 10:48:50 New York Giants linebacker Jonathan Casillas has a new catchphrase to use when he’s talking about getting into a good spot.
It’s “I want to be in the top five of my team,” Casillas said, via NFL Network’s Michael DiRocco.
Casillas has been an All-Pro over the past three seasons.
He’s had at least seven tackles in each of the past five seasons, a record for a linebacker in the NFL.
But Casillas’ numbers are trending up, as his yards per carry have increased each season.
His career average of 3.8 yards per attempt is currently the best among linebackers in the league, per Pro Football Focus.
He has also ranked second among all linebackers with 2,946 rushing yards this season, which is the most of any player.
He leads the league in rushing yards per game with 7.3 per game.
